The Technovation Challenge inspires and support girls to become creators and innovators. Middle and high school girls work in teams to design and create mobile phone apps that solve problems in their local communities.
The Technovation Challenge combines computer science and entrepreneurship. It teaches girls life skills such as how to identify a problem, design and test a solution collaborate with a team and communicate to different audiences. This life changing experience gives girls confidence and empowers them to 'change the world.'
With the support of teachers and professional mentors teams pitch and submit their ideas (through video), create a business plan and realize that anything is possible. Ten regional winning teams travel to San Francisco, CA to compete in the Technovation World Pitch event hosted in June 2014. The winning team will receive $5000 - $10,000 (depending on division) in seed funding to develop and release their app on the market.
